Pollsmoor Correctional Facility remains under strict lockdown after a deadly gang-linked attack left three inmates dead and two prison officials injured, Cape town Etc r eports.
Correctional Services National Commissioner Makgothi Thobakgale confirmed that the lockdown will continue while investigations into the incident unfold.
The attack erupted last Wednesday in Unit D3 of the Remand Detention Facility, where two correctional officers, identified as Mr Wuve Rubushe and Mr Mendo Somdyala, were ambushed by three detainees armed with sharpened objects.
