Rulani Mokwena says he does not consider Kaizer Chiefs a potential club for his services at the moment because they have a head coach.
The talented tactician is currently unattached to any club following his departure from Moroccan giants Wydad in May.
Rulani Mokwena on Kaizer ChiefsIn an interview on MSW with Robert Marawa on Monday 9 June, a fan asked Mokwena if he would consider joining Kaizer Chiefs as head coach.
"It can't be about Kaizer Chiefs because they've got a coach, he replied, adding that he was impressed with how Amakhosi played in the Nedbank Cup.
The Glamour Boys racked up an impressive series of wins on the way to winning the competition, including against Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch and Mamelodi Sundowns.
At a time when there was a lot of noise, doubt and pressure on the coach Nasreddine Nabi and his staff, to do that, its not very easy, Mokwena said.
Of course it's a great a club. It's got the pressure of doing well, also in the domestic league, but I think that winning the Nedbank Cup and delivering the first title in 10 years, and the way they did it, not only just winning it but the way they did it, beating other big teams, I think coach Nabi has earned credit.
"Sometimes as coaches we need that, we need credit sometimes. And I think he's earned the credit to be given an opportunity to continue to resurrect Kaizer Chiefs."
The former Masandawana and Buccaneers coach said his agent is considering offers from several unnamed clubs. However, he would only be involved if talks advance to a serious level.
Nevertheless, he was more open to a move to Pirates in an interview with SuperSport last week. He especially had high praise for club chairman Dr Irvin Khoza.
