Historian and academic Professor Pitika Ntuli says the majority of the Freedom Charters promises have been abandoned.
This comes as South Africa commemorates the 70th anniversary of the charter.
The African National Congress ANC will hold a briefing at the Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown, Soweto, as part of the commemoration of the Freedom Charter that was adopted there 70 years ago.
Ntuli says the charter has lost its value.
He says, "We come up with brilliant ideas, you know the RDP, Reconstruction and Development. What is it that we are reconstructing? What is it that we are developing? The agenda was very clear all it needs is ideology to implement it."
