Set to redefine delivery expectations, the new facility allows items tagged as local to reach customers within two days, with the possibility of next-day delivery-a far cry from the weeks of waiting that South Africans have become accustomed to when ordering from abroad.
Previously, consumers relied on products shipped directly from China, with extended shipping times that often frustrated eager shoppers.
According to a report from Mybroadband, the establishment of this warehouse signifies Temu's commitment to enhancing its operational presence in South Africa since entering the market in January 2024. The company is working to streamline service for an audience keen for quicker access to affordable goods.
While specific courier services responsible for the local deliveries remain undisclosed, products arriving from international locations still adhere to the established logistics framework: Buffalo Logistics facilitates importation, while last-mile services are provided by Fastway.
