The scenic Willis Walk Boardwalk, a vital pathway for visitors to the iconic Boulders Penguin Colony, will be temporarily closed today Tuesday, 13 January 2026, from 5 - 8pm.
This necessary closure is part of a safety operation aimed at removing bees that have taken residence in the area.
According to SANParks - Table Mountain National Park, the bees pose a potential risk to both human visitors and the critically endangered African Penguins that inhabit the region.
In a statement issued earlier today Tuesday morning, park officials urged those planning to visit the boardwalk during this time to stay clear of the area and consider alternative routes to access the beach or exit after their visit.
