Two 42-year-old men, one of whom is a local teacher, appeared before the Swellendam Magistrate's Court on October 17, facing a range of grave allegations involving two boys, prompting outrage and concern among community members and advocacy groups alike.
The pair, arrested on October 6, faces a series of grave charges, including three counts of rape, two counts of statutory rape, two counts of sexual assault, sexual grooming, and the sexual exploitation of minors, in connection with two boys aged 15 and 16.
According to police reports, the alleged incidents occurred on the night of October 5, when the suspects supposedly lured the boys to the Swellendam Cemetery, where they provided alcohol before inflicting harm upon them.
