Tanzanian billionaire Rostam Aziz has won a key legal battle clearing the way for his Ksh16.7 billion 130.5 million liquefied petroleum gas LPG terminal in Mombasa. The National Environment Tribunal NET dismissed a fresh case brought by Likoni residents seeking to stop the construction, reaffirming the approvals for the project.
The tribunals decision removes any obstacles to the regional energy expansion plan of Taifa Gas Investments SEZ Ltd, the company linked to Aziz, Tanzanias first dollar billionaire. A five-member bench, led by Emmanuel Mumia, ruled unanimously against the residents petition, allowing the company to move forward with its construction plans.
