South Africas most famous landmark, Table Mountain, and its equally iconic Aerial Cableway are once again flying the national flag high with nominations in the 2025 World Travel Awards WTA - often dubbed the Oscars of the tourism industry .
The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway Company TMACC is competing for the title of Worlds Leading Cable Car Ride, while Table Mountain itself is in the running for Worlds Leading Tourist Attraction. These nominations make them South Africas only representatives in this years global categories, as previously reported by IOL .
Going up against the worlds bestCompetition is tough. The Cableway faces rivals like Armenias Wings of Tatev, Disney Skyliner Cable Car in the USA, and Canadas Peak 2 Peak 360. Meanwhile, Table Mountain is up against world icons including the Burj Khalifa, the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal and Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.
