The T20 World Cup 2026 is set to begin on February 7 and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with 20 teams competing for the ultimate prize. India entered the tournament as defending champions, having defeated South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 to lift the trophy for the second time.
India are among the favourites once again, while several teams will be aiming to claim the title for the first time and others will look to add another trophy to their cabinet. A number of underdogs earned qualification the hard way, while a few sides secured their place in the marquee event through strong positions on the points table.
The tournament opener will be played on February 7 between the Netherlands and Pakistan, with the final scheduled for March 8.
