A suspect has been shot and wounded after attempting to hijack a vehicle allocated to the G20 Summit .
The vehicle was transporting the polices National Intervention Unit NIU members who were conducting patrols in and around Johannesburg on Friday night.
The polices NIU members were conducting patrols along Empire Road in Johannesburg when the alleged hijacker jumped onto the road and pointed at the driver with what was later discovered to be a replica firearm.
