A 35-year-old man has been arrested in Cape Town's City Centre in connection with the brutal murder of seven people in Gugulethu over the weekend.
The suspect was apprehended on Monday evening and is currently being processed as he awaits his court appearance at the Athlone Magistrate's Court, as reported by Smile FM via Facebook. Police have confirmed that formal charges are being finalised as the investigation unfolds.
Authorities are still actively searching for another individual linked to the case and have launched a public appeal for assistance.
Police are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Loyiso Matinisi, who is wanted in connection with the killings, to immediately come forward. Members of the public can contact Sergeant Sithembele Sambunjelwa from the Serious and Violent Crimes Unit at 073 416 5224.
