The Florida Panthers have energized South Florida, and Sunrise Mayor Michael Ryan says the team's impact goes far beyond the ice.

Ryan emphasized the pride the city of Sunrise feels, not only because the Panthers play at the Amerant Bank Arena but also because the sport has brought new life to the community.
He pointed to the broader economic and cultural impact across South Florida.
"The impact on not just the city of Sunrise, but all of South Florida has really has initiated such love for hockey that it has really brought home all that we love about the sport and what they've done for local industry from hotels to our local businesses has been such a big economic boost."
