Sales in traditional trade outlets, such as independent superettes, spaza shops and taverns, are growing at a faster rate compared to supermarket chains, franchised grocery stores and ecommerce platforms.
This is according to the NielsenIQ NIQ South Africas State of the Retail Nation analysis for the first half of 2025 released on Wednesday 17 September.
