The South Sudanese government has approved the construction of two new telecommunications towers in Jonglei State, aiming to strengthen communication and enhance security in the region.

Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Ateny Wek Ateny, announced the approval on Friday following a briefing from the Governor of Jonglei State on the current state of communications infrastructure.

The two towers are slated for strategic locations: one in North Ayod, the birthplace of SPLM founding father William Nyuon Beny, and the other in Ayod South, associated with the spiritual leader Makuac Tut. The installations are expected to improve connectivity and facilitate more effective administration and emergency response across the state.
