Suspended National Deputy Police Commissioner for Crime Detection Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya claims that theres a smear campaign to prevent him from vying for the vacant position of Hawks boss or the National Police Commissioner when it becomes vacant.
He alleges that those involved in the campaign include National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola and KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
Sibiya appeared before Parliaments Ad Hoc Committee looking at concerns of national security .
