The Electronic Government Division, SMART Zambia Institute , has taken part in a satellite regulation training programme organized in collaboration with the World Bank, the International Telecommunication Union ITU, and the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority ZICTA.

The training is aimed at building regulatory capacity, fostering stronger institutional collaboration, and supporting Zambia's ongoing efforts to expand digital infrastructure. According to SMART Zambia, the initiative is closely aligned with the Digital Zambia Acceleration Project DZAP, which is funded by the World Bank.

The DZAP seeks to expand internet access across the country, strengthen last mile connectivity, and extend the national backbone infrastructure, with satellite technology expected to play a pivotal role in bridging connectivity gaps.
