Singapore Plans Flight Levy

Singapore plans to introduce a levy on all departing flights after Parliament passed a Bill on October 14.

The levy will be collected by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore and will be used to procure and manage SAF for airlines operating out of the country. The levy aims for 1 green jet fuel usage at Changi and Seletar Airports by 2026.

In Parliament, Senior Minister of State for Transport, Sun Xueling , said the expected levy amount in 2026 for economy-class passengers was SGD3 R40 for short-haul flights, SGD6 R80 for medium-haul flights, and SGD16 R215 for long-haul flights, according to The Business Times .
