Senegal, known as the Lionesses, will be participating in their third Womens Africa Cup of Nations WAFCON, having featured in the 2012 and 2022 editions.
The Lionesses best achievement at the WAFCON was reaching the quarter-finals in Morocco in the previous edition in 2022, where they lost to the eventual third-place team, Zambia.
Senegal are yet to qualify for the FIFA Womens World Cup and the Olympic Games, but they have won the WAFU Zone A Womens Cup twice in 2020 and 2023.
Coached by Mame Moussa Cisse, who led the team to the 2022 WAFCON quarter-finals, the Lionesses have a strong squad that features both foreign-based and local players.
Key performers to watch out for include Maman Diop Olympique de Marseille, France, Safitou Sagna US Saint Malo, France and Marme Babou RC Strasbourg, France.
