In a major step towards strengthening its digital economy and empowering its youth, the Senegalese government has launched the FORCE-N program. The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation officially installed the programs Steering Committee COPIL on July 29, 2025, in Diamniadio. This ambitious initiative, which is a key component of Senegals New Technological Deal and Agenda 2050, aims to train 80,000 young people in digital professions. The launch was attended by key partners, including the Mastercard Foundation, which is providing crucial support.
Delivered by the Sheikh Hamidou Kane Digital University, the FORCE-N program has a multi-faceted approach to digital development. Beyond its core mission of training, it sets out to achieve several significant goals: placing 70,000 of its graduates in paid jobs, mentoring 10,000 entrepreneurs, and fostering the creation of 1,000 startups. The programs scope extends to the digitization of government administration and the promotion of artificial intelligence, making it a comprehensive strategy for national digital transformation.
During the launch ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education praised the dedication of all partners involved, emphasizing the programs importance as a strategic lever for fostering inclusive and sustainable digital development across the country. The newly formed Steering Committee has been given the responsibility of ensuring the programs effective governance and maximizing its impact. The successful implementation of FORCE-N is expected to significantly boost youth employment and innovation in Senegals technology sector.
