Senegal Hosts African Broadcasting Forum To Strengthen Digital Sovereignty

Senegal hosted the African Television Forum FAT Dakar 2025, a continental gathering focused on the strategic role of Terrestrial Digital Television TNT in advancing digital sovereignty, content security, and economic integration across Africa's audiovisual sector. The opening ceremony was presided over by Madam Marie Rose Khady Fatou Faye, Secretary of State and Government Spokesperson, alongside senior national and international officials.

The forum emphasized TNT as more than a technological tool, highlighting its role in sovereignty, territorial equity, and the modernization and competitiveness of Africa's audiovisual ecosystem. Discussions covered critical infrastructure management, cybersecurity, service quality improvement, and support for local audiovisual production, with TDS-SA recognized for its contributions to broadcasting modernization in Senegal.

On the sidelines, Senegal engaged in bilateral discussions with Algeria and Burkina Faso, focusing on regulatory cooperation, digital dissemination, expertise sharing, and the development of sovereign infrastructures. The forum reinforced Senegal's commitment to building a secure, sovereign, and competitive African audiovisual sector, aligned with the objectives of the nation's New Technological Deal.
