Nottingham Forest have named Sean Dyche as their new head coach after the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou, who lasted just eight games in charge. This announcement was made via their official X account , and the 54-year-old, who has been out of work since leaving Everton earlier this year, signs a deal until the summer of 2027, which is his first role back in management and one that feels a bit like coming home.
As Softfootball earlier revealed, Dyche had already been in advanced talks with Nottingham Forest after the club pulled the trigger on Postecoglou following their 3-0 defeat to Chelsea at The City Ground .
The decision, led by Global Head of Football Edu Gaspar and Technical Director George Syrianos, was all about restoring stability and control. They were the same figures behind the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, which came immediately after the loss against Chelsea , and this time, they've turned to a man built for tough jobs.
