Scenic Luxury Cruises Tours has removed dog-sledding activities from its tour offerings after reviewing evidence from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals PETA.
According to a statement by PETA, dogs used in the dog-sledding industry spend most of their lives chained up in all-weather extremes and are only used for tourist sledding activities and to race in competitions.
Scenic also no longer offers captive swim with dolphins encounters after PETA noted that many tourist organisations abused dolphins that had been removed from the wild.
