The South African Social Security Agency Sassa is poised to deliver welcome news to beneficiaries of social grants, as it prepares for an increase in payment amounts starting in the upcoming October payment cycle, Cape town Etc reports.
This adjustment aligns with an earlier announcement made by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana during the Budget Speech for the 2025/26 financial year.
In his address, Godongwana laid out a comprehensive plan to ameliorate the financial status of the nation's most vulnerable, highlighting a significant social grant uplift from 01 April 2025, followed by a modest increment scheduled for 01 October 2025.
