Sa Leaders Aim For Digital Transformation As Africa Embraces Starlink

Botswana, eSwatini, Zimbabwe and Zambia are some of the countries that have embraced the introduction of Elon Musks Starlink while South Africa has some reservations.
Elon Musks satellite internet firm and its implications came under the spotlight at the 45th Southern Africa Telecommunications Association SATA Conference in Johannesburg this past week, aimed at uniting telecom leaders in discussing digital transformation.
Starlink has embarked on an African expansion in recent years and aims to cover nearly three quarters of the continent by the end of this year.
South Africa has taken over the chairmanship of the SATA conference this year.
The new chairman, Sthembiso Dlamini, plans to push the digital transformation agenda for the benefit of millions of people in the SADC region who are not connected.
