South African swimming sensation from George in the Western Cape, Minke Janse van Rensburg, is now officially the best down syndrome swimmer in the world.
She made history at the 2025 Virtus Swimming World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, shattering six individual world records and another with her relay team.
Named Swimmer of the Tournament, she managed to win 11 medals, the most by any participant. This included six gold, two silver and three bronze.
