Indian Test captain Shubman Gill seems to be in action mode following a humiliating series defeat against South Africa. The Indian team suffered yet another home series defeat at the hands of the current World Test Champions South Africa in November 2025, as the Proteas whitewashed the hosts 2-0 in the two-match series.

Now, India's test captain is ready to amend mistakes and has suggested some changes that might help plan better in Test Cricket after the 2-0 whitewash against the Proteas. Coincidentally, this was India's second home series whitewash within one year, after suffering a 3-0 defeat against New Zealand in late 2024.

Shubman Gill has proposed having 15-day camps before every Test series India plays, as it might help players and the team management prepare better for the rigours of the five-day format. According to The Times of India, even the BCCI is willing to give the captain more authority in planning and preparation of Test cricket and is ready to fulfil the captain's recommended course of action.
