Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has named seven international companies as Pre-Qualified Bidders under the First Phase of the Independent Transmission Procurement ITP Project.
The finalists from the list will help in the construction of a 14-000 kilometre power transmission line, as part of the countrys public-private partnership.
About 1,6 million households dont have access to electricity. Now government is looking to work with the private sector for the rapid expansion and modernisation of the countrys transmission infrastructure.
