Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first in the opening T20I of their three-match series against the Proteas at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Pakistan on Tuesday afternoon.
The teams have just come off a two-game test series, that was drawn 1-all after Pakistan triumphed in the first, and the Proteas in the second, while a three-match ODI series will follow the T20Is.
This series will also be good preparation for both teams as they build up towards the T20 World Cup being hosted by India and Sri Lanka, getting under way in February next year, and the Proteas in particular will be looking to get used to conditions on the sub-continent.
