Former South African cricket player, Ntaketo Ethy Mbhlati has been convicted and sentenced on corruption charges by the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court, in relation to the 2015 and 2016 T20 cricket match fixing scandal.
Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale says in 2016 an anti-corruption official at Cricket South Africa received information about allegations of match fixing by Mbhlati.
The 43-year-old was arrested in November last year, along with two other members.
He is among the four former cricket players that have been convicted and sentenced in relation to the T20 match fixing scandal.
Mogale says the five years imprisonment has been wholly suspended.
