President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Salva Kiir Mayardit, has issued a Republic Order granting the E-Service Board full authority to digitize all government institutions, marking a major step in South Sudan's digital transformation agenda.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Telecommunication Undersecretary and E-Service Board Chairperson, Engineer Thomas Gatkuoth Nyak, following an evaluation of the board's 2025 achievements. He said the directive empowers the board to oversee and enforce the digitisation of government services across all institutions.

Engineer Gatkuoth warned that government institutions resisting digitisation due to ignorance or reluctance must be fully prepared to embrace the change by January, stressing that the transition is no longer optional but a national priority.
