Public Protector, Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka will investigate President Cyril Ramaphosa over claims of alleged violations of the Executive Code of Conduct.
The claims that were brought forward to the Public Protector by the official opposition, the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, are in relation to potential breaches of clauses pertaining to among others the abuse of power, improper conduct, acting inconsistently with executive responsibilities and failure to act in the best interests of the Republic.
The party has welcomed the decision by the Chapter Nine institution saying that this development marks a significant step towards securing accountability for what they call persistent ethical failures that have characterised the Presidents tenure.
