Thandeka Sibiya from Pietermaritzburg plans to embark on a solo walk from Pietermaritzburg to Johannesburg next month to raise awareness about fibroids and gender-based violence GBV.
Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or on the uterus, which may cause heavy or painful periods and pelvic pain in women.
She has called on men to show their solidarity by walking with her and protecting her along the way.
