The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC has warned celebrities, social media influencers and content creators to stop using public roads to make online content, saying the practice is dangerous and illegal.
The Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed, raised the alarm after a video went viral showing a popular TikTok, Peller, live-streaming while driving which led to a road crash.
Mohammed said using a phone to record, stream or create content while driving distracts drivers and puts the lives of passengers and other road users at serious risk. He stressed that such behaviour is a clear violation of traffic laws.
