The winner of the 2025 Knysna Oyster Shucking Competition has reclaimed his title from a decade ago.
The best restaurants from Knysna in the Western Cape went head-to-head during the Oyster Cooking and Shucking competition at the 42nd annual Knysna Oyster Festival.
Kitchen manager at a local tourist attraction, Patrick Sibeko, managed to open 12 oysters in one minute.
Sibeko says the trick is to open oysters them from the hinge, stressing that it is much easier as they do not break, If you open them from, the mouth, they break.
