The People against Petrol and Paraffin Price Increases have expressed support for the Economic Freedom Fighters' EFF court challenge against the general fuel levy increase.
EFFs urgent application against the increase is under way in the Western Cape High Court in Cape Town.
The 15 cents and 16 cents per litre increase for diesel and petrol, respectively, is set to take effect tomorrow.
Pappis National Convener, Visvin Reddy believes there is an urgent need to reform the countrys fuel pricing model.
Reddy says, "While the fuel levy increase is concerning, it is merely a symptom of deeper systemic issues in South Africa because the fuel pricing structure in SA is actually criminal."
