The Pakistan women's cricket team will take on South Africa women in a three-match ODI series starting Tuesday, September 16, at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. This marks South Africa's third tour of Pakistan in the last three years, with their previous visits forming part of preparations for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 and the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025.
The ODIs are scheduled for September 16, 19, and 22. Pakistan will be led by Fatima Sana, while Laura Wolvaardt will captain the Proteas. Ahead of the series, Pakistan conducted a two-week pre-series camp in Lahore, featuring practice sessions and scenario-based matches. The rising star Eyman Fatima, who recently made her T20I debut against Ireland in Dublin in August, has also been included in the squad.
The series holds added significance as both teams aim to fine-tune their preparations for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, scheduled from September 30 to November 2 in India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan are set to play all their matches in Sri Lanka during the tournament.
