Pakistan Women lock horns with South Africa Women in the second ODI at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday, September 19.The visiting team registered a sensational eight-wicket victory in the first ODI of the three-match series and is currently 0-1 up in the series, with two more games to be played.
South Africa started the ODI leg on a high, clinching the first game in Lahore by eight wickets thanks to a record-breaking partnership. Chasing 256, the visitors were struggling at 43 for 2 after losing Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus soon after. Following this, Marizanne Kapp and Tazmin Brits took complete control from there.
The duo stitched together a brilliant unbeaten 216-run stand, the third-highest for South Africa in women's ODIs, to take their team over the line with 10 balls to spare. Kapp remained unbeaten on 121, her third ODI century, while Brits brought up her fifth ton with 101 not out. Earlier, Pakistan had posted 255 for 4, thanks to Sidra Amin's unbeaten 121 and Muneeba Ali's 76. Aliya Riaz added a quick 33, but the hosts couldn't accelerate enough in the final overs.
