Gauteng Social Development MEC Faith Mazibuko says her department has arbitrated over about 2 000 funding applications from Non-Profit Organisations NPOs.
She says they have so far issued 900 letters of award to successful applicants. Mazibuko says organisations whose applications have been rejected have seven days in which to appeal.
However, a number of NPOs are concerned about the provincial departments delay in approving their applications for funding.
