Over 12,000 cyclists are expected to take to the city streets for Ride Joburg on Sunday, 26 October.
Cyclists take on the 97km and 35km routes from the FNB Stadium in Nasrec to Buccleuch.
It is a full trek with elevation reaching 1,398 meters, says race director JP Nortje.
"Where a lot of people get it wrong is at the start of the race, it is actually so flat when we start in Soweto. It's all the way downhill, almost all the way to the Woodmead off-ramp. So, you want to go fast. Then, when they get to Jan Smuts, they have nothing left in their legs to cover them through."
