Opposition political parties are calling for Police Minister Senzo Mchunu to be fired ahead of President Cyril Ramaphosas address to the nation tonight.
Its been exactly a week since KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi made explosive allegations against Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.
Mkhwanazi has accused Mchunu of authorising the disbandment of the political killings task team without the approval of the provincial or national commissioners.
Furthermore, Mkhwanazi has accused Minister Mchunu of working with notorious criminals who have infiltrated the criminal justice system.
Both the Democratic Alliance DA and the Umkhonto weSizwe Party MKP have opened criminal cases against Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, while the Economic Freedom Fighters EFF has called for his immediate suspension.
