One person has died and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision on the R102 between Humansdorp and Tsitsikama in the Eastern Cape.
Transport MECs spokesperson Makhaya Komisa says the crash last night involved a bakkie and a seven-seater passenger vehicle.
Komisa says the driver of the bakkie died at the scene, and a passenger in the same vehicle was rushed to hospital.
In the Suzuki 7-seater, only the driver was in the vehicle, and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Transport and Community Safety MEC Nqatha extends his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased and wishes a swift recovery for the injured passenger. A case of culpable homicide has been opened at Humansdorp Police Station.
