Al Ahly have officially announced the signing of former Zamalek star Ahmed Sayed Zizo, marking one of the summer's most high-profile moves.
Ahmed Sayed Zizo, whose contract with Zamalek recently expired, becomes the Red Devils' fifth signing of the current transfer window. He penned a four-year deal with the option for a one-year extension by mutual agreement.
Al Ahly confirmed the signing in trademark style, unveiling Zizo with a video announcement across their official social media platforms . The club confirmed it had completed all registration procedures with both the Cairo FA and the Egyptian Football Association after receiving confirmation that Zizo's contract with Zamalek had ended.
Notably, the 28-year-old winger links up with the Cairo giants following a long and controversial transfer saga that unfolded over the latter half of the season. He joins a growing list of new recruits at Al Ahly, including Egyptian national team teammates Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet and Hamdi Fathi.
Zizo is set to fly to the United States within hours to join Al Ahly's pre-tournament camp ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Egyptian champions are drawn in Group A alongside Inter Miami, Porto, and Palmeiras. They open their campaign on June 15 against Inter Miami, led by global icon Lionel Messi.
