Qatari side Al Shamal have officially signed Akram Tawfik on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Al Ahly.
The club confirmed the deal after the 26-year-old successfully passed his medical, with a press conference scheduled for 4 PM this Saturday at the Velero Lusail Hotel to present the player and announce full contract details.
Akram Tawfik becomes Al Shamal's first signing ahead of the new season, as the team looks to build on a promising 2023/24 campaign that saw them finish sixth in the Qatari Stars League.
Tawfik began his career at ENPPI before joining Al Ahly in 2016. He had a loan spell with El Gouna in 2019 before returning to Al Ahly in 2020, where he remained until the end of his deal this summer .
During his time at Al Ahly, Tawfik won an impressive haul of trophies, including six Egyptian Premier League titles, four Egypt Cups, and four CAF Champions League crowns.
