The Matlosana Business Chamber in Klerksdorp says it is concerned about alleged corruption in the Matlosana Local Municipality , North West.
This is after the National Prosecuting Authoritys NPA Assets Forfeiture Unit obtained a preservation order to seize the assets of the municipalitys Chief Financial Officer, Mercy Phetla and five others.
The assets, which include luxury vehicles, are worth R2,7 million. The municipality allegedly paid a supplier R6 million for services not rendered between September 2023 and January 2024.
