Johannesburg Emergency Services says no major incidents have been reported overnight and on Tuesday morning due to rain that continues to fall across the city.
Emergency Services spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi says the citys response teams are on standby to respond to any incidents, especially in informal settlements, which are prone to water-related incidents.
We plead with our motorists to exercise caution while driving, extend the following distance, avoid crossing flooded roads and low-lying bridges. Residents are also cautioned to avoid crossing low-lying bridges and river streams. Also, monitor children to stay away from river streams and also drainage channels.
