Sokoto United head coach, Peter Ajeni has said that the win over Gombe United has boosted his teams chances of qualifying for the Nigeria National League NNL Super Eight playoff.
The hosts defeated Gombe United by a lone goal at the Giginya Memorial Stadium on Saturday.
He expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of his players.
I want to thank Almighty God for this important win," Ajeni told Sokoto Uniteds media.
"This was a must-win for us to stay clear of the relegation zone, and the boys delivered.
