Nigeria's Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. 'Bosun Tijani, met with Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, Rector of the United Nations University UNU, on the sidelines of ICEGOV 2025 to discuss advancing digital transformation through research partnerships.
The meeting centered on strengthening collaboration in areas such as Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Skills Literacy, with both parties agreeing to work toward establishing a UNU Institute in Nigeria focused on Digital Public Infrastructure.
In addition, discussions explored the possibility of setting up two more UNU research hubs-one dedicated to Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the UNU Institute on AI in Bologna and another focused on Digital Skills and Literacy.
