Niemann Wins Liv Mexico, Novak And Griffin Win Zurich Classic
Chilean golfer Joaquin Niemann booked his place in the US Open when he won the LIV Golf Mexico City tournament by three strokes.
While on the PGA Tour, American pair Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin picked up maiden wins on tour when they won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans team event.
Niemann shot a final round 6 under par 65 to clinch a third championship of the season at LIV Golf Mexico City.
He started the final day two strokes off the lead, however three birdies going out and another four on the back nine saw him finish with a 3 shot advantage. Not even a bogey at the 14th could slow the Torque GC captain down, as he finished on 16 under for the tournament.
Its his third tournament win this season and a record-equalling fifth of his LIV Golf career. He is in the lead for the individual championship this season he narrowly missed the title last year to Spains Jon Rahm. And to cap a superlative days play, Niemann has a spot in the US Open in June as well.
