Newcastle United continued their poor form in preseason as they lost yet again to K-League All Stars in South Korea today. Softfootball followed as the Magpies lost to their hosts by a lone goal at the Suwon World Cup stadium.

Newcastle are having a torrid period in the summer as they winless in 3 consecutive preseason games. They had earlier played Scottish side, Celtic and Premier League opponents, Arsenal . This 1-0 loss is the very second game in he preseason which Newcastle had failed to find the back of the net. Celtic had beaten them 4-0.

Against Arsenal, the Magpies found the net twice but conceded three times to lose them against the Gunners. Despite the strong starting XI by Eddie Howe that had - Nick Pope, Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, Tino Livramento, Joe Willock and new buy, Anthony Elanga, the black and white could not find the net.

They conceded in the first half via Jim-Gyu Kims in the 36th minute. This loss shows that Eddie Howe has a lot of work to do ahead of the new season that will see Newcastle play in the UEFA Champions League.

The Magpies do not only have on field issues as they have been really poor in the transfer window as well. They have only brought in Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest for a fee believed to be around 55m although a loan deal for Southampton goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly almost completed as reported by Softfootball .

They almost completed the transfer of Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt but the deal was hijacked by Liverpool after they rejected the Reds bid for Alex Isak. The problems have now compounded as Alex Isak has told the club he wants to leave this summer and Liverpool are the only club reportedly interested to sign the Swedish striker.

Transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the links of Liverpool to Isak on his verified X handle .

He wrote:

Howe and the Newcastle management will have to fix all that is going with the club in the coming days as the Premier League 25/26 season begins in a couple of weeks.
