Northern Cape police have dismissed as unfounded social media posts that their acting district commissioner, Kenneth Baloyi, is the director of Vusimuzi Cat Matlalas Medicare 24 company.
On Wednesday, police in the province launched an internal investigation into the social media posts claiming that Matlalas company director Kenny Baloyi and the acting provincial district commissioner were the same person.
Matlala is back in the spotlight following KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazis allegation that he has ties with Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

Medicare 24 was awarded a R360 million South African Police Service SAPS healthcare tender last year Matlala later cancelled.
